Morning anxiety, early waking

Hi,

I've had some challenging times recently, but during the day I have been coping better. However I am still waking up between 4-6:30 every morning with my mind racing and sometimes it's hard to break out of.

Has anybody got any tips to help?

Hi.

I am a sufferer with this most definitely. I guess things often seem worse at that time, it's like if you wake at 2am and feel isolated in the dark problems can seem far worse than they really are.

I have found dealing with the issue is a priority, so for example if you hate your job you will naturally feel stressed in the morning if you have a day of doing that job, I know in real life it's never simple but in this example try and change your job.

The second issue for me is looking after my health and diet, I am a lot calmer and better equipped to deal with problems if I'm fit and nourished, alcohol also makes you feel better whilst drinking it but ten times more anxious the morning after.

Lastly nothing stays the same good or bad so it will go away one day !

I also wake up early because of things on my mind. I then want to lie in bed doom scrolling which makes everything worse I find getting up and doing something- exercise, housework, have a shower and get ready for work, even reading a book makes me feel better.

Thanks. I just want to feel rested again! The problem is they are not easily solved worries, but are real. It also seems to set the whole tone of the day and take a long time to snap out of.

I have had this a few times in my life. You may have tried these already but here is what I do/did. Listening to music on low (you need comfy headphones) I liked classic chill out or an audio book. Helps block out the thoughts. I also got into meditation. John Kabbat Zin mindfulness was great. For some reason just listening to him just calms me now. Lots on you tube for free. When nothing else worked though I ended up on anti depressants. I feel your pain. It’s so hard to be so tired and just not be able to sleep. Sending you hugs.
