Its gorgeous weather outside and i should be outside taking my DD (3) to the park or for a walk, but i just dont seem to be able to get out of the house, weve been stuck inside for 4 days now and im feeling really s**t about it.

Im a single mum and dont have anyone to ask for help about this, the more i stay in the more i dont want to go out.

This cant be good for my DD as shes not getting any stimulation.

Does anyone have any advice on ways i could entertain her without it being to stressful??

Get out, get out, get out! The longer you stay in the harder in gets.

Had pnd with ds and also never wanted to leave the house and actually hated spending time with him. I dealt with this by having a set routine of going out every day. Mon and weds - M&T group, fridays - bus into town, thurs - friend (or if not available, park). Every day I did the same things at the same time and it helped me get out of a rut and know how to approach the days.

Out of the house is always less stressful than in IMO. The more mine are shut up, the worse they get!

Hi, depression can affect your motivation to get out and do things but getting out and about can have a beneficial affect for both yourself and DD. I know it is easier said than done when you are feeling very low but getting out really can help. Have you spoken to your HV or GP about how you are feeling? Perhaps they can put you in touch with some toddler/playgroups so you can both get some company.

Thankyou for your advice, much appreciated.

Ive been to my GP about this before and she's stuck me straight on citolophram.

Your right tho,i know i just need to get out before it gets harder.

Just think there should be a little more help out there as there certainly isnt where i live

Where are you Tidy?

Should also say that if the Citalopram doesn't work, other things might (I know from experience) so keep talking to your GP.

Write a routine of going our down on paper for yourself and stick to it.
