Is overthinking and people-pleasing related to anxiety?

I've been on mirtazapine for anxiety but am weaning off them after two years now and hoping I'll be okay without them.

I have a tendency to people-please and overthink things I've said or done, and presume this all stems from the anxiety.

I'd be grateful for any advice on how to overcome this.

Yes, people pleasing can be an attempt to control how people feel about/view you. You need to accept that you can't control this, and work on your self-esteem.

Maybe pay for some counselling?

I guess it does stem from the anxiety. But - where does the anxiety stem from? Counselling/therapy would be my suggestion, too.

Yes this is an interesting way to look at it
