DD and mental health

My DD struggles a lot with her mental health. She has being diagnosed with depression and is undergoing counselling at CAMHS. She has been self harming since year seven, she is in year eleven now. We have removed all sharp things from the house, razors, knives, scissors etc. But she always finds a way to harm herself as if it be her bulimia ( she makes herself sick as another way of self harm ), burning herself with matches, scratching herself, basically anything she can think of.

This is a huge problem for me and DD and is very sad to watch her go through all of this as she is only young.

We found a suicide note of hers in November 2021 and since then she has tried to overdose twice on pills in the house ( which have now been kept hidden from her ). We feel helpless and do not want to watch DD like this as it is only a stage in her life and it will not go on for long but at this rate we feel like she is going to end up killing herself before she even gets a chance to get better.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I have a year 10 daughter who also suffers with mental health and has self harmed and threatened suicide. I understand the utter helplessness and fear you are going through.

Are there any support groups you can attend for you? Most of the support focuses on the child but I've realised it's the family that actually needs just as much help.

I've signed up for online counselling and a parent group.

I'm afraid I can't give any more advice or help but I can offer a virtual hand hold and sympathy.
