Anxiety: Long standing, treatment options?

Have had anxiety all my life but never been medicated for it, have been overly medicated for depression but currently medication free. Now the depression seems to be at bay the anxiety has ramped up.
Have completed and engaged with a course of CBT which was useful but the physical symptoms are unbearable atm. Will not be able to take beta blocker type meds because of low blood pressure. Sertraline is out of the question as well due to side effects when prescribed for depression
Has anyone got any recommendations of what has helped them please?

Fluxotine (spl?) was the one that helped me and the third I tried. I take the second lowest dose.

Medicated for depression, anxiety and panic attacks which I've had since childhood.

Check out Dr Claire Weekes - both her books and the audiobooks. She is kind of a patron saint for a lot of people with anxiety because her approach really has helped so many. That and meditation and exercise really helped me when I came off the meds and have been doing pretty well with GAD for the last few years.

sorry posted too early - in terms of meds - Mirtazapine helped me for a while, and my mum too but Prozac was the main one I was one for years

Have a look at this Ted X on anxiety;

Tim devised the Control System, which is a method of remedial hypnosis that doesn't use trance. Happy to send you a list of practitioners if you'd like to talk to one of them.

Thanks everyone, I listened to Dr Weekes on audible this afternoon and really enjoyed what she had to say, was like stepping back in time :)
Thanks for the recommendation about the hypnotherapy as well, had a very bad experience with a probably unqualified practitioner a decade ago which sent me into a massive depression so will skip it but really appreciate the reply.
Feeling especially despondent today after a bloody panic attack when out, I don't usually get them like that.
Onwards though, back to the gym next week and will really have a think about whether or not be be even considering medication again. Thanks again

Glad you enjoyed Dr Weekes - yes, she feels to me like listening to a kindly yet firm old aunt and, while her references are dated, she makes a lot of sense
