Long time poster.
I've changed names recently because this could be far too outing and I've got to be careful how much detail I give anyway.
I've got severe insomnia. I'm an adult now but it's mental health orientated because I was molested frequently by one of my parents and there was other abuse too.
The NHS are helping me but I need more support and they aren't giving me enough.
I had a clinical psychologist which ended recently and now I've 'just' got a prescribing psychiatrist that I see once every 2 months and a sleep clinic which is definitely not addressing the real issue. I have told them this.
Regardless, I take medication that they prescribe because I don't think it's a bad thing, but I do overdose on it frequently because I just want some good, deep sleep. They know this because I've been honest with them not because I've been found comatose or anything.
I live in a supported housing (they know everything) but I don't feel safe and never have in my life. Ever.
Ideally, I would like to spend time on a an acute mental health unit, but I have heard you have to be in much more of a severe state to be considered or take the private option which I can't afford like the vast majority wouldn't be able to.
If I could have the opinion of some NHS mental health staff and a GP that would be excellent.
I have definitely left out some detail because I don't want my family to see this. Thanks
