Months and months of trying different AD’s, going through hell, from sweating, the worse nightmares right to feeling the lowest of the low and suicidal on more than one occasion - even on this one…. I think it’s finally starting to work for the better.
6 weeks in and I definitely feel different. Stronger. More resilient.

Heres hoping this continues. I deserve it. I really do.
I am glad i stuck with it.

just a bit of reassurance for anyone experiencing the same 💐

It took quite a long time to work for me, 6-8 weeks, but once it did, it's been very effective. Hope this is onwards and upwards for you too.

@Buteverythingsfine i think I remember u posting on one of my old threads when I first started it(I was under a different name)
I definitely feel different, though I think it is slightly blunting my emotions too. Did u find this?

In my case, blunting my emotions was what I was after, as I'd become very over anxious, over-emotional as well as depressed, so I was looking for more stability and it gave me that. Now I feel happy quite easily and certainly never depressed like before, this is months down the line. I'm on quite a low dose though (75mg) and not intending on increasing it. I would go back and read your old posts and you will see how far you have come.

Mrsblobby22 · 03/12/2022 22:35

@Buteverythingsfine my old posts are truely shocking, a plea for help. I never thought I’d get to this point. I was suicidal and never thought I’d get out of that deep deep dark whole. Yes that’s true I suppose, that’s what they really are for, blunting emotions. Though me and my partner have fell out as week now(live separately) and I just don’t care. Really not like me at all. Any tiffs before and I am a wreak. It’s so weird. I’m on a low dose too. 37.5. Was upped to 75mg and couldn’t hack it and had to taper down pronto

This is great to read. Really pleased for you.

That’s great. I’m on citralapram and don’t think it’s working at all. Feeling calmer but depression still here.

@Partyprofessional i was also on citalopram in June. I stuck with it excited to feel a different. 12 weeks later, still nothing. I never thought that they possibly wouldn’t agree. Went onto fluxotine next for a few very short weeks and had to come off it quick then. Was then prescribed Venlafaxine, was so nervous to take after the experience with fluxotine, so I let it sit in my room for over a week until I plucked up the courage to take. I had a tough 5 weeks getting adjusted to it. A very tough 5 weeks. But I’m glad I stuck with it.
If u don’t think citalopram working, try another. There will be one that suits u out there. How long are u on it?

@@Buteverythingsfine can I ask also, did u gain any weight with this tablet?

OP posts:
Buteverythingsfine · 04/12/2022 18:18

No, I haven't. I really think a lot of the problems with this med are found at the higher doses, you can take a lot more than you are having. The only side effect I noticed was being a bit sweaty, which is a well-known side effect, but this has gone away over time. No weight gain, nothing undesirable, just I'm calmer and not sobbing all the time, all good from my perspective. I think you are over-worrying about this -surely even some side-effects would be better than how you were living before, which you were finding unendurable.

Whatacrocof · 12/12/2022 13:19

@Mrsblobby22 please can I ask what dosage you are on? Thank you

Mrsblobby22 · 14/12/2022 22:49

I maybe spoke too soon. Letting things get on top of me again and getting wound up and snappy 😞 maybe I need to gradually try the increase again
