Mirtazapine - feeling awful

Morning, I take mirtazapine but the constant feeling of a grotty hangover every morning and horrible nausea is dragging down my mental wellbeing even more.
It's helping me sleep but not really helping my anxiety, panic attacks, constant state of fight or flight and depression.

My family frown on the use of anti depressants so no one I can ask. Very grateful for any advice

If it's just for insomnia my gp swapped me from mirtazapine to phenergan and I feel a lot better In the morning, no hangover.

What time do you take it and what hours do you sleep? It may be worth taking 2 hours before bed to minimise next day grogginess.
Also, what dose are you on? Sedation is more pronounced at lower doses, and decreases as dose increases.

I took my first at 11pm and felt very groggy until 4 or 5 pm next day. Took my second at 10pm and have felt good all day! Early days but I'm glad not to have had 2 groggy ones in a row. Anxiety is down although that happens anyway so I'll wait and see.

10 days into Mirtazapine and I'm impressed. Sleeping better, not affected during the day and I definitely feel less overwhelmed by life. No side effects.

update

just thought I’d give a little update on my post on this thread from a few weeks ago x

So .. initially as written above.. I felt horrendous , I really did .. but I now know , something that I stupidly didn’t even consider .. that the horrible symptoms I was experiencing were the previous antidepressants coming out of my system also . I was previously on 225 mg of Venlafaxine ( quite a high dose ) my GP advised me to miss 1 full day of these and the following evening take the new meds ((Mirtazapine)… the pharmacist from my surgery has since advised this was far too quick for my dosage but sort of said she couldn’t override my Gp .. anyway .. nearly 3 weeks in and I’m feeling much better !
not all the way there yet ( on 15mg still ) my mood and tolerance levels are better , I’m not feeling dizzy , muscle tightness .. and grogginess still there but a little better ..
I'm really relieved that I took the advice given from this thread .. and stuck it out ..
not fully there yet … but grateful for the advice xx I sincerely hope that anyone who posted here who was feeling rubbish is feeling a little bit better ♥️

Hi, I’ve been on mirtazapine for 8 months and from day one it’s been brilliant but this week I’ve started to feel anxious and nervous headache the usual stuff I had before I started taking it, but it’s not full blown.. anyone else experienced this
thanks

I took it for a week, I couldn't wake up. So stopped. It's very addictive and I had to wean myself off slowly. I now use alavender spray on the pillow, like mum did. It works for me and I wake up feeling good
