What do you do that makes you happy? I just mean day to day stuff.
I started paying attention to it and things that make me happy so far I’ve found are:

1:1 time with my spouse.
walking the dog in the woods
Quality time with the kids (phone turned off).
spending time with my family (but this isn’t often as they don’t live close by).

What makes you happy? Hobbies, interests, work?

My children and my dog. Nice food and good TV. That's it really.

ElbowsandArses · 28/10/2022 19:29

Hanging with the kids. Fresh sheets on the bed. Going for a run. First coffee in the morning when house is silent. Reading a good book. Walk with a friend.

Really good telly. Killing Eve, Game of thrones, Schitts Creek.
Eating. Good food. Cake. A Chinese takeaway on a Saturday night.
Pay day.
Holidays.
My friends. Time with good, solid, kind, trustworthy, funny people.

Getting up early at the weekend when the rest of the house is still sleeping and enjoying a coffee in peace then doing yoga.

I’m extra happy if it’s warm enough to then enjoy another coffee under my covered pergola with a book, especially if is raining and I’m sat there in the fresh air staying dry.

Gardening.

My cat purring away. She’s a skittish rescue who only lets me touch her. I feel so happy that I’m making her feel safe and happy.

Time with my husband
Visits from the grandchildren (and daughters)
Sitting inside watching the rain listening to it on the roof of the conservatory.
Cosy fire and music
Cake
Chocolate
A walk on a frosty morning
A walk in the sunshine
Lots of simple things

Peace and quiet.
Being in nature.
Natural light.
Listening to Stephen Fry read P. G. Wodehouse or Sherlock Holmes.
Wandering around art galleries and museums.
Coffee shops (preferably empty).
Being around good, kind, sincere people who don't take themselves seriously.
Dogs.
19th-century British fiction, especially Dickens, Austen and the Brontes.
The paintings of Vermeer, Monet and Pissarro.
Random acts of kindness.
The Scottish Highlands.

Above all, I love being in nature, as far away from noise and cars and housing estates and stress as I can get.

Coffee, walking, nature, listening to audio books, meeting up with friends, watching documentaries, eating a posh cake, going to bed early to read a book, singing and dancing with the dc.

Having time to sit and read.
Coffee that has been made for me.
Sitting in the conservatory when it's raining heavily and just listening.
Getting into bed all warm when it's cold outside.
Having a long bath.
