Signed off work following stress/anxiety/depression/burn out...

I have two weeks to get better. Any suggestions? Where do I start???

I'm on setraline and HRT. I've resigned from role but have to give 6-months notice.

I think this is the problem we have in society. People expecting a quick fix in regards to mental health recovery.

It’s not like a broken leg. There are no clean cut fixes and recovery isn’t usually in a straight line either.

Sorry to hear you are unwell.

Why do you say you have two weeks? Is that the length of your sickness note from the doctor? If so and you are not well enough to return at the end of it you can likely have it extended, so don't feel under pressure to get well enough to be straight back at 2 weeks time.

It sounds like you're already on the road to recovery with being signed off, taking a step back from work, and getting some medication.

If you have access to any private medical care you may also be able to access additional services sooner than nhs wait times but I appreciate this is a real luxury

I started running. I did the couch to 5k and that really helped me. I tried to find some activities I enjoyed and did those too. It’s not for everyone I know but might be worth a try. I also looked at what was worrying me to try and find some coping techniques.

You can't get 'fixed' in 2 weeks. Have you felt like this before and if so, what helped then? Like pp said, look at doing some fitness as that releases endorphins, and consider accessing some self help information online or through books.

2 weeks is not enough time to heal. It’s a start but not nearly long enough.
Do you have a local wellbeing helpline? Or an employment support programme? Many employers gave them now. They generally give you half a dozen free MH sessions.
Your sertraline will take a few weeks to really kick in, but I am sure your GP explained this to you.
I would think that your GP will sign you off for a good few more weeks, as you need. Make some time for yourself. I took up HIIT classes and upped my cycling. Some discover knitting or crochet, sewing or get stuck into a new author and read for hours. Whatever helps you really.

From experience, I can recommend exercise, even if just walking to the park and back. Movement is good. It really helps.
I hope you feel better soon but remember, healing from mental health issues, stress etc, is not a sprint.

Does your work have an employee assistance program? Start there if so.

No alcohol.
Lots of gentle exercise- walking, yoga etc.
Less electronic devices.
Cold shower in the morning, warm bath at night.

And as much private therapy as you can afford. What's available on the nhs is poor and minimal.
