Mirtazipine - restless legs

Just started on mirtazapine - 15mg- which I'm taking alongside citalopram, propanalol and olanzapine. Feeling much better even though its only been 5 days, which seems very quick, but I've had terrible restless legs/arms since I started. Anyone experienced the same and did it wear off?? I really am feeling a lot better since adding the mirtazapine to my cocktail of meds and don't want to have to stop because of a side effect.

Did they increase the olanzapine at all in the recent past if you don’t mind me asking?
The reason I ask is I had dreadful psychomotor restlessness (couldn’t keep my legs and arms still, especially at night) when I was on it.
Coincidentally I was put on mirtazapine about a year later but I didn’t notice the restlessness getting worse and I’ve always associated it with olanzapine only.
Is your sleep better since you started the mirtazapine? It’s generally good for sleep and that can make you feel better very quickly in and of itself.

I had hugely restless legs with it. I had to stop in the end because it was just driving me mad and I couldn't sleep.

@LadybirdsAreNeverHappy they've actually reduced my olanzipine since starting on the mirtazapine. I didn't have any issue with restless legs when just on the olanzapine, although I had every other bloody side effect! I'm hoping to come off the olanzipine now, will be slowly reducing. My sleep has always been OK really - the olanzipine knocked me out! It's waking up early with anxiety that's been a problem and that's pretty much gone with the mirtazapine.
@mynameiscalypso thanks, I hope it improves but I'm worried it won't. Weirdly it started as restless legs and now it's restless arms!

It’s early days, it might settle down. Talk to your doctor, maybe there’s something they can do.
It is a crap side effect but worth persevering. I found mirtazapine the only thing that really made me feel noticeably better. I’m actually thinking about going back on it.
Just a thought, I got loads of the restless thing when I was withdrawing from olanzapine now that I think about it so maybe worth a mention to your doctor. But in all probability it’ll be the mirtazapine if it’s a new side effect.
Best of luck with it. I really hope it works out for you xx

Thanks @LadybirdsAreNeverHappy . I'm pleased to report that the restless arms didn't make an appearance last night. Such a relief. I had a dead sea bath in the evening which may have helped? Or it may have been a transitory thing. Hoping it stays away as I'm feeling so much better!
