PIP / LCWRA for social anxiety/agoraphobia?

Hi, I do apologise if this is the wrong topic for this thread, I'm not too familiar with this stuff.

I was wondering if anyone has ever claimed PIP/LCWRA Universal Credit for social anxiety and/or agoraphobia - how much evidence did you need to submit?

I've read it's VERY hard to claim for these particular conditions, as you normally need "overwhelming" evidence, but with my severe social anxiety/agoraphobia my evidence is very limited Sad

I had a few face-to-face appointments about it in 2021 with a GP, was prescribed a couple of anxiety medications and referred for talking therapy. However I didn't go through with the therapy as it was over the phone and I struggle with phone calls.

Since then my condition has worsened - I haven't been out in public once, I can't even go in my own garden anymore, or even open the front/back door. Face-to-face appointments with GPs/therapists wont be possible and I'm really struggling to speak on the phone because the anxiety is so bad Sad

I'm just not sure if I have "overwhelming" evidence for my condition, because of how it makes me avoid talking to/attending appts with doctors and therapists.
I feel like I'm in a catch-22 situation.

Would the appointments I had in 2021 and my anxiety medication prescription suffice?

If there is anyone out there who could possibly give me any kind of advice on this situation I would be so grateful.

Hi I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I am in the same boat right now. Can’t even put the bins out.
i had a phone appointment with GP a few days ago who gave me a sick note so provided that to UC. Currently sanctioned as I couldn’t attend my last appointment. But this will get the ball rolling with LCWRA. I’ve done the online test for pip and it says I can get it too.
No one seems to understand I can’t just do things
UC need me to go to an appointment to end my sanction which I can’t do, involves going on a bus

has you gp got e consult? You can write everything you like on there then they either can refer you to things / sick note which is sent via email / prescribe medication

i am the same as you, always been too anxious to go to GP but I did it this week, so have limited evidence so far but going to keep calling

my best friend got pip and lcwra fairly easily for agoraphobia and fibromyalgia, her phone interview was all of about 5 mins and was mostly stress free for her. I deal with her admin life jobs so done her forms and supported her for the call but in all honesty I think she could have coped without me. I have read however that’s not the case for everybody and think it’s just your luck who you get

With PIP you can state when you claim that you have communication difficulties - that way they automatically contact your GP / other people you want them too and you don't have to do any form filling. You will also be given an assessor who knows your condition.

Good luck.
