I dont think im suicidal but to be honest id rather not be here. I really struggle at work...I have messed up every job i ever had bar 1 ( there have been a lot) and feel completely useless as a result. I still have 25 years left at work. I have only been 5 months in this one but i just can't cope. I have had little support and have had loads of "issues."

I have been bullied at work loads too.

It's not like i can stop work as i need to pay bills. I love my job but nor the politics.

Im sorry you're feeling so down. Would you like to talk.about anything more specifically, like the bullying? It's awful and no-one deserves it. have all your jobs been in similar fields? Flowers

OP you’re not alone. I have had similar with jobs despite working really f%ing hard and putting in so much effort. I’m not one of the loud, domineering ones and that has left me open to bullying, possibly being blamed for other people’s mistakes etc.

Solidarity OP, some of us really struggle with work.

There is a lot of work that different people have different contributions to make. For example some people are 'opposers' - they are the ones who point out (in a positive way!) when things could be different. Without opposers things don't get better and bad ways of working persist, but it often isn't valued and if people like this find themselves in the wrong jobs it can feel like things go wrong over and over again.

It's sometimes a case of having to struggle through until you do finally find the right fit, but your worth is much more than your working life. See your GP if you feel this sad about it and lastly, is there a future that you think looks different? What if you worked for yourself in some capacity? If you use this sadness as a reason to work towards something positive, it will get easier.

Hi malificent7,

We're sorry you're feeling so low.

We can see you're getting some good support from other Mumsnetters, but we thought we'd also add a link to our Mental Health resources as there are many organisations listed which could give you some more support in real life. The Samaritans are there for you too, by emailing [email protected] or calling 116 123, any time.

We also wanted to let you know about a text service called Shout - please click on this link for further information - giveusashout.org. They can help with a range of issues including anxiety and depression or if you're feeling overwhelmed.

Please also take a look at the help available from Mind. They have some information on how to be mentally healthy at work - please click on the link.

We really hope things start to get a bit easier for you soon.

Thanks all. Had a meeting with my boss and she wants me to consider if it's the right profession for me as i forget things when stressed.

This sounds tough. In honesty, the times I’ve had a job that’s made me feel awful I’ve quickly tried to move on and it’s been the right decision. I know that’s not always easy to do though.
