Leaving hospital

I've just left after 2 months stay in hospital, and I've dipped. What do you do to get back into your routine and feel well again?

Hi Snowymouse, that sounds hard, and now you are home there is more to sort out than when meals etc are provided for in hospital.

Have you tried making your routine very simple and just making sure the basics are in place until you feel stronger?
So perhaps make sure you are up and about by 9am, breakfast and wash/shower by 10. Go out every day even if it is only a 5 minute walk.
If food shopping is overwhelming can you go every few days rather than a big shop. Buy simple things, little treats or ready prepped things if finances allow. If you cook do enough for more than one meal, e.g. 3 portions of pasta, put jarred sauce into 2 portions and use the 3rd for a simple pasta salad.

I have nothing useful to add @SnowyMouse but just want to say I'm in the same position following a 3 month hospital stay, and understand how hard it is for you right now x

Hi, I've been in that situation a couple times before. I found it really hard coming out of hospital and had big dips both times. I found that getting outside helped - some days that was pretty much all I could do, and I just went and sat in a park for a bit, but definitely felt better for if I managed. Other than that, trying to stick to a routine as pp mentioned is a good idea. Also try to take the good aspects of hospital (for me the routine, and time to do things you normally wouldn't) and carry them on, but also do the stuff you couldn't do in hospital, like meeting friends, and trying to enjoy that. Honestly for me it just took some time but both times things did gradually get better after the first few weeks. Hope you are feeling better soon, my thoughts are with you!

Sorry you're struggling too @Olimar

A routine and getting outside sound good.

I'm trying to do activities I did in hospital, I didn't have my laptop, so did creative things.

Don’t think about a situation as a whole but rather as you have to do A, then B . Break things into manageable parts. Don’t overthink the entire outcome.
It’s how I cope with everything

Thanks @YawnAndTheyWillYawnToo , that sounds like a good idea. I really need to get back into studying, but my concentration is poor.
