Health anxiety

I don't really know where to turn right now. I've had tingly fingers, lips and toes for 3 weeks now. I've also started getting joint pain and been getting tired quickly. My health anxiety is making me think all sorts and I'm booked in for blood tests on Friday. The doctor thinks it is probably a lack of vitamin D or something. But I have myself convinced that I have a disease that will end me.
Has anyone had these symptoms and not had a terrible disease? I want to convince myself that it will be ok but I'm struggling.

Me!

I thought I had MS. Tingling fingers, tingling face & lips, bones hurting, aching joints, dizzy, so exhausted I struggled to sit upright.

Turned out to be Vitamin B12 deficiency along with Vitamin D deficiency.

Ask the reception for a print out of your results when they are ready so you know exactly what has been tested and you can see the labs reference range. Lots of people can still be symptomatic at the lower end of the “normal” range and the normal range for B12 is particularly low in the U.K. compared to other countries. Our lab marks B12 at around 150 as normal but adds ‘consider treatment if patient is symptomatic’.

Normal range for Vitamin D at our local lab is 50 but >70 for bone protection so a Dr may mark it normal or satisfactory if your result is 49 but you may still have symptoms and won’t have the bone protection. Fine if you’re 23 but risky if you are heading into your 50’s.

Try not to worry, easier said than done I know, hopefully it is just something easily treatable Flowers

Thank you for this. I'm feeling exactly this way and have been thinking all sorts. I have had vitamin D deficiency in the past so it isn't too unlikely that it could be this. I will ask for a print out. I never knew I could do this! Thanks once again; you've helped to slightly calm me down!

I've had all these symptoms and it was...anxiety. I'm much better now but at the time I couldn't believe anxiety could make me feel so bad with so many different symptoms. I convinced myself doctors had missed something. A year later I'm feeling much better.

I feel a little calmer as compared to earlier today. But the feelings just come back again after some time. It makes me feel worse that my home life is pretty great but I feel like I can't enjoy it because I'm so stuck in my issues.
I'm getting therapy started soon so hopefully that will help. Thank you!

If ever you do feel strung out with anxiety sit somewhere quiet and play this. It’s proven to reduces anxiety by 65%, lowers heart rate and leaves you feeling calmer. There is a 10 min, 30 min and even a 10 hour version. I’ve never needed calming down for 10 hours though! Wink I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the results of your blood test.
