Depressed neighbour?

Just wanting some advice.

To keep it short. I’ve lived in the same house since 2013, my neighbour has always kept herself. Over lock down I spoke to her in passing a few times and learned she’s lost both her parents during the pandemic, was still furloughed and that she had been feeling depressed. I told her that if she ever needed a chat she’s more than welcome to pop round for a cuppa and chat (she never took me up on my offer, I’m not complaining about this, just thought it’s important to mention). Im not sure if the age gap between us puts her off, she is older than me, maybe she finds it hard to talk to me? Recently I haven’t seen her at all, her laundry has been on her washing line for almost a week (not judging at all, something just seems wrong). The only time I hear her is late at night when her partner comes home from work and let’s their dog out in that garden. I realise I probably sound like the nosiest neighbour ever, I’m really not.

Should I go round to make sure she’s okay? Or should I mind my own business and leave her alone?

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 19, I’ve had depressive episodes in the past and know how bad it can be.. when I was depressed I just wanted to be left alone.

Do you actually hear her when her partner comes home, could she be isolating. The washing seems a bit odd, whats the weather like there.

I would pop round based on what you've said. Nothing wrong with checking someone's ok. Kind is good.

I think I'd be popping over with a bunch of daffs, and just saying saw these and thought of you. She might feel a bit embarrassed, you might feel silly, but they'll brighten up her kitchen and put a smile on her face.
