Anxiety Rings

I keep seeing advertisements for anxiety rings - they have little beads on which you can fiddle with. I have a terrible habit of destroying the skin around my finger nails and it's really sore so I thought this could help.

Does anyone use them and have you had any joy?

Do you have any recommendations for which ones to buy?

Thank you

Wouldn't it be better to tackle the cause of the problem?

I have fidget rings - sterling silver ones from etsy.
I like the kind with a second ring set on the outside of the first one that spins in a channel.
Some of them can be a bit too wide if you don't have really long fingers.
Search 'fidget ring' on etsy and see what you like the look of.

I also like other fidget toys - you can get a nice wooden one on etsy.

I am the same as the OP. Its not that simple. Yes, it's linked to emotion but it's also a habit, one that comes with a huge amount of sensory feedback and stimulation. It's not as simple as "deal with the problem"

Are you a certified professional to be dealing out one liners to strangers?

@StringyPotatoes

I am a (soon to be a qualified) hypnotist so can help people stop smoking, control their weight and deal with anxiety. Does that count?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 11/01/2022 17:38

No.

No of course it doesn't. People with sensory issues don't need fixing, they just need things to fiddle with. And much anxiety can't be cured, but you can learn coping mechanisms.

DD1 has one as a thumb ring and it does definitely help her. Sorry, I'm not sure which seller hers came from though.

I have one, I also have one of those phone grips that spins, they do help

I use an acupuncture ring, use it whilst teaching to keep me calm 🤣

OK, thanks. Always helpful to get guidance from a certified professional.
