Hello. I was recently involved in a minor car accident where the third party verbally agreed to take liability, but has not yet done so, and when i called them after the accident they said we "could let the insurers handle it", which doesnt fill me with confidence that he's going to take liability. No one was hurt.
When I applied for my car insurance, I ticked my occupation as unemployed due to disability. I don't work due to fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression and ptsd. As these conditions do not seem to be notifiable from what I have read as they don't impact my driving, I have never informed dvla or my insurers. Am I right in thinking that I don’t have to disclose this information ? No further details were requested at the time when i got the insurance.
I should also point out that I am on medication, but none of it explicitly states that I am unable to drive when taking it.
My GP has never told me not to drive, but at the same time, i didnt think to ask, i didnt realise my conditions/meds might be notifiable.

Do car insurers ask disabled customers about meds/conditions after a crash?

I'm so worried i've done something wrong that is going to void my policy and possibly cause a stream of other problems.
Thank you in advance for your help.

DH is physically disabled but takes lots of meds. I take meds for A & D. We have both had people crash into each of us but we’ve never had insurers make an issue out of our conditions or medication.

@BeLessMe did you declare to dvla and insurers about a&d? my doctor didnt tell me i had to, and it was only after the accident i read online that 'if it affects your ability to drive' then you have to. ive never had an accident, 20yrs no claims, so dont feel im wrong in saying my conditions and meds dont affect my driving.

I just checked with DH because he is also diabetic and also takes AD, DVLA is fully aware of all his meds & conditions but he has no restrictions.

I don’t think I disclosed because, like you, it doesn’t affect my driving in any way & it wouldn’t occur to me to do so. So,, unless they asked for a full list of my medications, I won’t have mentioned it.

@BeLessMe thank you. does your dh's condition show on his 'info provided' document on his car insurance? mine says 'unemployed due to disability' and 'no medical conditions declared', i read online it says that your policy can be voided if you dont declare mental health issues, but then read on gov website that its only if they affect your driving - all so confusing!

It depends on symptoms rather than the conditions and severity.

www.gov.uk/guidance/psychiatric-disorders-assessing-fitness-to-drive#anxiety-or-depression--mild-to-moderate

Crisis team intervention = no driving at that time.
