Are these people good to see ?

I have horrendous mental health issues. Almost at crises point.

As well as GP and taking therapy , GP wants me to see one of those people.

What will the conversation be about ? I'm freaking so if anyone can advise I would be grateful

They usually help you to find local support. So they can link you into local activities, groups, support groups etc. Sometimes they will help you start by booking you in/going with you for a session etc. Our local ones are great and really good at helping people to find local support that helps with their wellbeing e.g a great mindfulness gardening group that doesn’t advertise but someone I know finds great for being able to get some headspace and fresh air. They can also often link you into house/finance and other support if needed.

I work with MH clients, our social prescriber is great. She helps coordinate between GP, MH, social services, benefits people etc.
She has time to listen. If you have a similar one, she is on your side and will help you find possible ways to improve your life.
The conversation will be about whatever you want it to be about.
The ones I have met are all not only nice but also useful.
They also come in the male variety.

They can be very helpful, in providing extra support, etc.

Thank you for your replies.

I am very nervous. I don't talk to strangers about my feelings. Not ever .

So this is a huge deal for me.
