Self help book recommendations

Has anyone got a good self help book recommendation please?
I’m mid thirties. My exh cheated on me and messed me around for a year after. I feel like I’m still living in that limbo land. Piled on weight, lethargic, depressed, everything is an effort etc
All the self help books I see are all mainly US writers for career minded women.
I just want to read someone’s story who has gotten out of the funk, lost weight, move more, less stressed, happier etc

Not a book but the website and You Tube channel "Therapy in a nutshell" is really good. It's science based but well explained. There is free content and some mindset/MH courses that you can pay for. I thoroughly recommend. Good luck Flowers

I'm not connected to the website in any way btw. I think the psychologist who runs it is Canadian, not sure? I've found it helpful for weight loss.

Ditto Second Nature weight lost programme. Very good science based content.

Thank you for this thread, and thank you for all the suggestions, I will def check them out, especially the youtube channel.

I would suggest reading the "The missing piece meets the big o", at some point too. It's simple, short, and it made so much sense, it stuck in my mind.

I think Dr Rangan Chatterjees “Four Pillars” isn’t a bad place to start. It’s quite broad ranging and focuses greatly on using the body as a means to improve overall mental health and well-being. If we all lived our lives according to his mantra been a much better place!
