Worried my child will die

I’ve always been incredibly anxious where my child is concerned but lately I’m convinced my child will die. I imagine it over and over again and my heart is breaking, it’s like a premonition, I’ll just be going about my day and all of a sudden I’ll just think my god what will I do?
I’m feeling sick constantly, I don’t know what to do

So sorry you’re preoccupied and upset. Make a GP appt & discuss your mental health. Ask your GP about referral to talking therapy
Good luck

@Takemetothe90s contact mind matters and see if they can offer you some talking therapy, I feel as a parent we all have this worry but some it gets to a point you need help with it.

I think about it often but due to having CBT as a teen for depression I can manage to block it out before I end up a sobbing mess on the floor 💕

I don't find social media helps me as I often come across post's of ill babies/children or of one's that have passed away then I find myself wanting to know why so I can prevent the same happening to my children 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes, I do that. What really scares me is that my mum wanted to buy something for my dd that she can’t use for a few years and I really snapped at her and said no, and she just quietly said ok, which is not like her, so I’m thinking omg she thinks it’s going to happen too. I’m a mess at the moment and I’m drinking too much which obviously isn’t helping.

This sounds really horrible for you. I have intrusive thoughts and images that are like this. Medication and CBT have really helped. Please do talk to your GP, or talking therapies like CBT are usually provided by your local IAPT service which you can often self refer to. If you google your area and IAPT it should come up with your local providers website. It can get better.

Ok thank you I will do that.

I think it's far more likely that your mum just thought you were in a bad mood and she probably realised it was daft to buy something for so far in the future if you'd have to store it and your daughter might not like it by then.

Takemetothe90s · 03/10/2021 20:35

I’ve just had a look at the IAPT site but they’re unable to help me in my area. Anyone know anywhere else I may self refer?

Why are you self referring when you can see a GP and get a referral for therapy or community mental health team support

See your GP get an assessment and they can refer to appropriate service. They can discuss medication. You can ask about treatment options.
