You must have wanted to be sterilised in 2016, what has changed to make you think you now want a baby? Presumably you do have a child or children.

From my understanding, if your fallopian tubes are tied they can sometimes be untied but it isn't always effective, ie the tubes are no longer patent. However tube tying is not the only method of sterilisation. Do you know how yours was done? You really need to discuss this with a gynaecologist.

I noted that this thread is in 'Mental Health,' and am wondering if you do have some mental health problems. If you do you really need to think carefully and take professional advice before becoming pregnant, that is if it is at all possible for you to conceive.

I don't know y it ended up in mental health. Yes I have one child and at the time I didn't want anymore . Yes I have an appointment with my gp just want to hear from anyone who had theirs tied and got pregnant.

Perhaps you will receive more answers if you posted in another section, Gabby.

I copied this from the NHS site:

Female sterilisation is meant to be permanent. It can be reversed, but it's a very difficult process that involves removing the blocked part of the fallopian tube and rejoining the ends. There's no guarantee that you'll be fertile again (able to get pregnant) after a sterilisation reversal.

It is unusual for a youngish person with one child to be sterilised on the NHS unless there are health risks associated with pregnancy. One of the reasons is that people do change their minds later on.

When I was 34 I had severe menstrual problems (had for years, even before having a child), and saw a gynaecologist. We chewed over the idea of me having a hysterectomy which I would have welcomed, the doctor thought that was too drastic and suggested some medical treatment (Ii worked). I just told you that to illustrate the cautious approach doctors adopt anything that will render a person infertile.

I wish you well and hope somebody who has had a successful reversal does post.

There wouldn't be any chance of getting pregnant unless you had the operation reversed. See your GP and go from there.

possibly with egg retrieval, fertilization outside the body and then placed in the womb therefor avoiding the blocked fallopian tubes.

I don't believe reversal is available on the NHS. There must have been a strong reason if you were sterilised after 1 child, has this reason changed?
