I was awarded the enhanced daily living rate and mobility rate 3 years ago.

Prior to that, before my mobility issues started, I was awarded the enhanced daily living rate.

I have never been able to work. I have many chronic conditions.

I've just received a letter stating I only scored 4 out of the whole assessment.

I'm no longer being awarded any PIP.

I don't know how I can live like this.

I feel suicidal. I have my 3yo dc here.

I have no one. I have no help.

Saying that OP, you have a strong case as you were on it before and nothing has changed. I was applying for it and didn't get it.

Theunamedcat · 08/09/2021 11:41

Ask for a statement of reasons dont do it over the phone

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/09/2021 11:42

I swear they employ assessors without any common sense at all

They are instructed to only pass a certain number each week/ day. They are told how to 'catch people out.' Just horrendous. Event the language used is appalling, tribunals, we are not criminals?!

OP, hope you manage to get it sorted, I second the suggestion of CAB Flowers

RandomMess · 08/09/2021 13:39

It's truly awful.

I agree that most people should be assessed every x years but the amount that are refused is just ridiculous. People with dystrophies that by their nature get worse over time it's a waste of time other than it to be a quick welfare check - literally is this person still alive, living at x address and no miracle reversing cute has been found.

Often people with mental health do manage their lives better through experience, more suitable medication, lifestyle changes but rarely does that mean they are better and able to work and certainly not full time.

Just ridiculous and causes so much stress and ill health to many seriously ill people and their families

Hi op

You should request a mandatory reconsideration. This is the DWP looking again at their own decision and usually a farcical pretence but it's a hoop you have to jump through nevetherless. When they inevitably uphold their own decision appeal to the a tribunal. This is decided by an independent panel and it's not a court. There's a statistically high success rate.

I know this because I was an CAB adviser for 11 years.

Call the CAB for advice on appealing or there may be a disability rights organisation in your area.

If you google citizens advice PIP appeal it will tell you all about the process. I promise you even if you have to go to tribunal it's relatively informal (not like the courts you see on telly).

Keep your head up 💐
