Any fellow sufferers? Can you share what helped you get through it? At your lowest how did you pull yourself through? Any tips and advice from real life experiences would be helpful. Thank you.

Hope you're doing ok Thanks I'm also struggling with PND & anxiety after my second DS - he's 15 weeks today. It's more the anxiety with me. I had it after DS1 was born in 2016 as well. I took medication & also had counselling / therapy and did get better. I hoped it wouldn't happen the second time around but unfortunately it has. I've started medication again & once that's settled down, I'll be starting therapy again (I'm under the perinatal team at the moment).

I find getting out and about every day helps - a long walk, usually with my mum or my husband. Also talking about how I'm feeling helps. The more I bottle it up, the worse it is. Do you have family / friends close by? Lean on them as much as you can for help etc - don't feel bad for asking. Take any / all help offered. I've found being honest with friends has also helped this time. Last time I hid it from a lot of people - I don't really know why? This time I've been more honest & the support I've had has been amazing. Since I've spoken about what I'm going through, I've had a couple of friends open up to me to say that they've struggled in the past as well.

Keep going & just know that you're not alone. As my perinatal doctor said, if you had broken your leg & were in plaster, you wouldn't expect to be running within a week. This is exactly the same - we just need time to heal xx
