I'm trying to concieve at the moment, but a bit worried about this as someone who suffers with mental health I know the news isn't always as factual but what has your experience been?

I'm not going to click that link OP, looks dodgy

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Mh support is the first to go in a crisis and isn't that well funded or managed when there isn't!

For you, depends on how good your team is. You could check how things are locally.

@chickenyhead, don't worry, it's not dodgy it has just been shortened.

Mental health care on the NHS is dreadful (underfunded etc.) at the best of times so of course it's worse during the pandemic.

My own experience is not a positive one. I was left to just get on with things despite being openly suicidal with PND. That was pre-pandemic!

I think if it's possible for you, OP, you should consider private care.

Aaah thanks @Obese

MH services and adult social care throughout the pandemic has been pretty much emergency only I'm afraid.

Your GP would still be able to provide support however.

The service around this has been poor for ages.

You're at TTC stage so don't worry.

Raise it with midwife at booking and mention your concerns etc.

Get partner etc to keep an eye on you when Pg and tell midwife when next seen.

A lot of it is down to no prior issues and so it's not obvious/ played down by woman.

If you flag it from start then I'm sure you will get support if you need it
