Does anybody know of any online places where I can chat about how I'm feeling? I don't have it in me to pick up the telephone and not sure how long I can bare this for. Thank you

Hi, Not sure, but wanted to ask What u feeling? X

catswhiskers89 · 01/07/2021 14:27

I had a baby recently and my MH has rapidly declined since. So far I've found MH professionals to be unhelpful. The pills they prescribed knock me out so I can't care for my baby. I feel like I'm drowning, my head is spinning and my skin is burning me... I need to get out of it.

Aw that's sounds awful. Do u have any help? Is it just since your baby was born you've been feeling like this? Can you google intrusive thoughts on YouTube x

I didnt want to read and run. How are you now op? Do you need to talk? You can PM if you do. Remember if you feel that you are at risk of harming yourself or others, you can go to Accident and Emergency for emergency support.

Hi catswhiskers89,

We're so sorry that you're feeling this way.

We're sure you'll get some good support from other Mumsnetters, but we thought we'd also add a link to our Mental Health resources as there are many organisations listed which could give you some more support in real life. The Samaritans are there for you too, by emailing [email protected] or calling 116 123, any time.

As you've said you don't feel you can talk on the phone, we also wanted to let you know about a new text service called Shout - please click on this link for further information - giveusashout.org. Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. They can help with a range of issues including anxiety and depression or if you're feeling overwhelmed.

We'd also like to point you in the direction of an organisation called PANDAS Foundation which was set up to support families through pre- and post-natal depression. Their webpage is here and they have a free helpline, available Monday – Sunday 11am-10pm - 0808 1961 776. They can also provide support by email.

And finally, here's a link to Mind's information on Managing mental health problems with a new baby. It's an online booklet which has suggestions on what you can do to help yourself and your baby. It also explains what support is available and includes information for friends and family. Please do take a look.

Keep talking here, OP. There are lots of Mumsnetters who'll know exactly what you're going through right now. We really hope you're okay. Flowers
