Hi ladies,

Happy Thursday! Hope you're all doing ok. For the past few weeks I have been having a lot of anxiety and panic attacks, I've had touches of this before but its usually more manageable. I've recently bought a house and am starting new job and although this is good news I seem to have slipped from overwhelmed to struggling with anxiety.

I can't take beta blockers due to low blood pressure so doctor asked me would I consider SSRIs but I'm just not sure I'm there yet, any help and experience would be great x

When I slipped into psychosis from the anxiety was when I started taking them, I still think 20mgs is too much though, I was better on 10mgs. 20mgs makes you feel fuzzy all day. But it certain;y does kill the anxiety - it's such a relief.

I went onto sertraline after going through counselling twice. Counselling was helpful for realising why I had developed anxiety; and then the drugs are fab to actually stop the anxiety. You could wait and see if your anxiety eases when your circumstantial stress goes down (house, covid), if you’re hesitant to try drugs.
