I have long term issues that I’m having trauma therapy for . I’m generally well but have occasional out the blue panic attacks . I used to use codine based meds for this but the addiction side concerned me . It’s been suggested that night nurse or piriton are good for taking the edge of panic attacks .Any experience of this ?

Is there anything that stops you taking prescription medication? They can really help

Are the attacks frequent? When do they come on? Can you work on things like meditation/self hypnosis and diet?

I know someone who did this (and takes various supplements - all recommended by a nutritionist) and she was on high strength anti depressants for many years.

Maybe St. John's wort?

Mindfulness is great. Not a medication, but still great.

Theres rescue remedy. I like the ones you can suck on as I try to focus everything on that to take my mind away from the panic.

Rescue remedy or some kind of flower essence/remedy could help.

I find Herbalstore Stress Relief tablets helpful.

Hello, I've been taking one starflower oil, one fish oil capsule and one vitamin b complex daily for 5 years (all vitamins from Holland and Barrett only due to the strength) obviously I do have the odd day where I don't need to take them. They have changed my life. I don't take prescription medication just those above. Ask your gp/ pharmacist if your able to take them if you have any health conditions/ current medications.

Wish you all the best Smile

Neither portion or night nurse ate meant for anxiety.

Why dont you ask for a call from your GP?
There are some techniques that can be tried. You could also be prescribed a low level anti depressant or a drug like propranolol.

Benadryl over the counter can apparently help with calming and sleep. not a recommendation
But really you need to speak to your GP. I'm on propranolol and citalopram for anxiety. I take magnesium citrate, B12, and folate too.
