I good place to start might be www.mind.org.uk/information-support/drugs-and-treatments/talking-therapy-and-counselling/useful-contacts/

There should be a local mental health service connected to your GP or area that could help further either by assessing you and helping you access services or you might be able to self refer.

Also don't discount the Samaritans. They are there to listen www.samaritans.org/ or you can contacted them in other ways. I'm currently having CBT and the trainer always suggests we use them if we need anything. They also might be able to signpost you to services in your local Area.

Good luck @shadypines xx

Ooo another one could be if your employer subscribes to an employee assistance programme.

If you can afford to pay privately, the BACP or Counselling Directory will give details of local people specialising in your specific issues. Some offer lower rates if you are on a low income or unemployed.

As well as checking whether your employer provides this free, ask your union. The BMA offers free telephone counselling to doctors who are members- other unions may do similar.

Thank you all for replies, have remembered my employer does provide something for free so I will look at them first.
