I do know that sometimes they say it gets worse before it gets better.
Usually you feel a difference after about 2 weeks with antidepressants etc.
Some tablets may just not agree with you and you may need to try a few different types before you find one that suits you.
If you start to feel very low please call your doctor.
Hope you feel better soon x

You're only 6 days in. Side effects usually start to ease off after 2 to 3 weeks and you start noticing significant improvement around 8 to 12 weeks. There are no instant antidepressants I'm afraid and Mirtazepine are kind of a bitch for side effects but they do wear off pretty quickly. To be replaced with a ravenous hunger that threatens the lives of any remaining chocolate Santas left in the house.

One thing you can try is taking them at night so that you sleep through the worst of it. Also do not drink on them until you are stable on them as you will be on another planet. I had a glass of wine on them one day and honestly was away with the fairies. I could've set fire to the house and burned to death standing there like a ditz wondering whether we had marshmallows.

It got better for me, I think days 3-8 were the worst. The first 3 I just slept from complete exhaustion and relief that I'd finally sought help, and then once I'd had some sleep I had some more room in my head for thoughts. Until your thread I'd actually forgotten how dark some of them were. I never acted on any of them, or even felt like I actually wanted to act on them, but I remember contemplating methods and means. I don't think it's unusual with mirtazapine, but if you do feel you are in danger please seek immediate help
