Possible depression signs - anger, poor sleep?

I'd be grateful for some help. My partner gets very angry often when I or our children do something that irritates him. I'm very worried about both his mental health and the effect this is having on the children and myself.

He also sleeps very poorly (never wakes up rested) and has recently started complaining of headaches.

Does anyone have any experience of this and might they be signs of depression? Should he see his GP for therapy or medication?

They are signs of stress/depression. Have you spoken to him about your worries and if so what has he said?

Thanks MellowMelly, I have spoken to him - he also apologies afterwards - both to me and to the children.

I don't think he knows whether he has it or not but he said it wouldn't surprise him if he was.

Well it’s good that you’ve been able to speak to him about it. In the long term he would be best seeking advice from his GP. Getting treatment would be better for him and you all sooner rather than later. He obviously realises he is snapping and is therefore apologising so he must feel pretty rotten about it.

Thank you, yes - I will speak to him about getting treatment. It means a lot to be able to speak someone! x
