Now before I start I know there's no one rule for all I'm just after different experiences.

I've been on 15mg for 6 months and now 7.5mg for a month and I'll be halting again for another month until I've totally got rid of this drug.

So far weaning I've had no side effects (touch wood) but my question is this.

How easy is it to lose the weight I've gained on this drug??

A bit of background. I was a size 6/8 before and never exercised and ate what I wanted (I was very lucky!!) then I got pregnant. So before I was pregnant I weighed about 10 stone and maybe 10 stone 6 at my heaviest. I'm not 12 stone 4. I was put on this drug a month after giving birth, so I'm not sure if it's weight gained by the drug or weight not lost after pregnancy or both!!

Just after people's experiences of weight loss after stopping the drug.

I'm not over eating anymore and walking more than pre pregnancy but my belly looks about 6 months pregnant!

I went on the drug for depression but the weight is depressing in itself

I’m on mitazapine and have put on weight. No idea how is it stopping it as despite the weight gain it’s been a wonder drug for me.
If you search on mn you’ll see a few people who have come off of it.

I hadn't gained while on it, but when I quit it (temporarily) earlier this year, a few lbs dropped off immediately without me trying at all to lose them. (The same couple of lbs came right back when I went back on mirtazapine a few months later, as just wasn't sleeping without it.)

In the past I put on a lot of weight while on a different drug (quetiapine) and while that weight didn't come off automatically, it was so much easier to control what I ate without that added appetite, and so much easier to be active without the constant feeling of sedation. Good luck!
