Hello! I'm new mum to my gorges baby girl who is 14 week now.
Starting to feel extremely lonely lately.
Feel like I'm locked in in my own home.
My anxiety is through the roof because of our 9 month old puppy who can't stop jumping. I'm just stressed every time my baby is crying as he might jump. He is 38kg puppy so when he jumps it really hurts.
I feel like I don't give enough attention to puppy and I can't teach my baby to self settle as I get anxious when she starts to cry that he will jump.
Don't want to talk to my husband as he is already stressed because of work.
My mum doesn't live close so I can't leave my daughter with anyone not even for few hours and have a coffee in silence.
Just want to cry.

I am so sorry to hear this. I also have a young baby and a big dog. You’re surrounded by these things that depend on you and sometimes have no one to depend on yourself.

I found getting the baby in the carrier and taking the dog out helped, you’re giving both the stimulation they need whilst getting exercise and fresh air yourself.

Have you looked into baby groups? My area is on local lockdown but they still seem to be running.

My baby is 7m and I feel much better. Though sometimes quite alone.

Your baby won’t self settle that young so don’t worry about that. Can you get a crate for the dog? Would he like his own space?

Keep talking here x

With regard to the dog, I would crate train so that you can do things with baby and not have to worry.

When I had babies I had a big (59kg) lab. Was friendly but clumsy. I used a child stair gate so he could see us but was not able to cause harm.

I would get out for walks, a good pram, a halti for the dog so they don't pull. Please don't get a harness the dog won't be able to be kept close. Stop for a coffee afterwards. You will end up striking up conversations

The people I've met out dog walking are lovely. Not heavy conversations but you're out of the house and it will help.
