Erm, can I ask you to share experiences please because for me it's like this:

Fluoxetine

No appetite
Lessening in effect after a number of weeks
Didn't help me when PMT came around
A little dizzy and giddy

Citalopram

Dizzy
Dry mouth
Sweating/too hot
Clumsy and I don't think i can drive that safely (essential for me to be able to)

Both work well with depression in general but I'm wonderign whether to go back to Fluoxetine

How long have you been on them?

If Citalopram makes you unsafe to drive then I do think you need to try something else. Could you try a new one rather than go back to something you didn't like? I was on 3 ADs before I found one that helped.

Good luck

Thanks for reply Overrated

I think I will try the Fluoxetine again. Do you happen to know whether it is essential to have a break before changing drugs?

I never had a break when I changed. In fact, they always crossed over - I stayed on the same dose of one and began a low dose of the new one. Over a couple of weeks, I reduced the dose of the original until I stopped. Then the dose of the new one was adjusted. FWIW, there are different types of ADs, not just SSRIs (which Fluoxetine & Citalopram are) - SSRIs did not help my depression (which was very severe). I am now on a NaSSA which is the only thing to have helped. Can you talk to your GP about all of this? You should be able to have some input in your medication.
