Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.

My husband has been referred to get diagnosed with ADHD. He only got this referral a couple of weeks ago after I finally reached my limit after years of his behaviour and told him if he didn't speak to a counsellor for his spending problem then I would have to rethink our marriage - within half an hour of his appointment with a therapist, she said she was certain he had ADHD and would be referring him to get diagnosed officially.

Has anyone had experience of this? It isn't an excuse for his behaviour, but I am unsure how to deal with it practically.

There is a website that focuses a lot on ADHD and relationships, I can't remember it but if you google there is lots of info. The medication can be life changing so there is a lot to hope for!

Medication can make a massive difference. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Currently 2 years in my area. I gave up and went private. If you can afford it it is worth it. Circa £500 for diagnosis and £100 for meds. Check with your GP that they are happy to do shared care and then you will only have to pay for the first months meds.
