Can't deal with how ugly I am

I know this will sound ridiculous, I know it's ridiculous but I cant help it ~ I am genuinely so upset with the way that I look. It's got to the point where I am over analysing every little thing about my appearance. I know nobody has a symmetrical face but mine is very lopsided and it's got to the point where I am looking in the mirror over a 100 times a day. I'm also filming my face at different angles and it seems to be consuming me. I do suffer with OCD so I'm wondering if this is something to do with that. Its really distressing and its affecting my day to day life.

Oh bless you. I am sure there is nothing wrong with your face in reality and this is just a manifestation of your OCD. I would not let this take hold of your life.. go and visit your GP and tell them exactly what you said here and they will help you. They can offer anti anxiety medication and hopefully some sort of cognitive behavioural therapy.
Good luck! Definitely ask for help, that’s what the NHS is there for

This is definitely a mental health issue and nothing to do with what you actually look like. Even if you were the 'ugliest' person in the world (subjective anyway), you shouldn't have to live your life like this. Can you start off by trying to look in mirrors less? Maybe have an elastic band on your wrist then shout STOP if you are getting negative thoughts and try and focus on something outside of yourself. Sorry I know that sounds easier said than done but as a short term coping mechanism it could be worth a try. Please go and seek help, and don't be put off if the first gp or whoever doesn't seem that helpful. You deserve to feel happy and comfortable with yourself. Do you have any 'tools' you can use when you have other OCD symptoms?

@Oly4 I'm already on medication and it seems to be working with my other symptoms of OCD but this is completely new

@sun I've learnt to not let my other intrusive thoughts affect me, just let them be there and not react to them (although that has taken several years and I'm on medication) but this is completely different.
