My dd has been diagnosed of psychosis. Dd has been very stressed in the last few weeks. The hospital has kept her for a few days. I m now feeling so guilty and worried. Just don’t know what to expect! Would anyone share their experience with me.

Thanks for replying @Coconuttree; since I typed my post I had a call from CAMHS offering more CBT I said no this is pointless, its been 2 years I'd like a full review as I think she may have a personality disorder and they said well we will discharge her then!! She tends to mask everything and then goes to pieces in private. Apparently CAMHS have never encountered anyone doing this before .... Hmm

I cant see my DD insisting she gets help as she is very timid and she now believes no one can help her Sad

@dishingoutdone To me my dd’s problem became more and more obvious since she reached year 7. Since then I had been asking the school for help but they underestimated the my concern. Can you do self referral or can you afford private assessment? As they get older the more difficult for us, parents, to be around to support them!

My dd is still in hospital and she is very poorly. Her condition seems to become worse in the days/week leading up to her menstruation.

Hi @Coconuttree I am so sorry to hear this - what have they said? Whats the plan? How is she coping, and how are you coping? (And I agree, whatever it is, its always worse around menstruation).

My DD has been discharged from CAMHS I think they did it out of spite to be honest! I can make a complaint now as I have nothing to lose, and I am trying to find a private psychiatrist for DD.

Thank DishingOutDone, They said my dd has vitamin b 12 deficiency. So they will start giving her injections. Hopefully the vitamin deficiency is reversible. But they are still monitoring her closely. They are still doing the diagnosis.
Sorry to hear that your dd isn’t getting the support she deserves. I hope you find a good psychiatrist for your dd.

@DisingOutDone, apparently vitamin B12 deficiency often cause many mental issues inc depression, anxiety, aggression ....... Will you consider to ask your gp to give your dd a blood test. If you search “vitamin b12 and metal health” you can find some websites on this topic.

Thanks for idea - its definitely on my radar but she had a lot of blood tests about 6 months ago and nothing showed up so hard to know what to think.

I m only learned from internet. I have no medical qualifications. Apparently vit b12 deficiency does not always show in blood test results. I m convinced that myself have vit b12 deficiency as I hear ringing in my head, lethargy, mouth ulcers, slight palpitations, minor diarrhoea but my blood test result still showing normal. My both daughters have been diagnosed of vitamin b12 deficiency at around the same time. This is very confusing! I don’t know what to think either!
