Duloxetine

Can someone share their experiences with this?
I'm thinking of changing over to this, I currently take amitriptyline but find it's not really relaxing me properly and I still find myself anxious and tense.
Sertraline was a nightmare for me, as was citalopram but not as bad, I basically don't tolerate any SSRI's so have decided that maybe an SRNI would be better.

All opinions welcome.

I've been on it for a few months - 3 or 4 maybe? I'm now tapering off and moving back to sertraline which I was on before. I did find it helpful but my psychiatrist decided it wasn't helping enough. I didn't really have any side effects but it made me very numb/disassociated. That wasn't a bad thing as far as I was concerned but I think it's got to the stage where it's hindering my ability to get better because I don't feel anything at all and don't really care about anything, good or bad.

I love it. It turned my anxiety tap off. I’d taken fluoxetine previously and duloxetine much better in terms of anxiety.

Love it - life changer for me... less numb than with sertraline or fluoxetine, gives me more energy, more get up and go.

It's really worked for me when nothing else did. The only warning I would give is it's a killer to come off it, the withdrawal if I even miss one is practically unbearable. I think it's worth it because it made a difference to me after trying dozens of other meds, but it's something to be aware of.

Been on it for many years after having been on Sertraline and Venlafaxine.

It’s been really helpful - kept my depression manageable and my anxiety even more so.

Side effects for me are poor sleep and excessive night sweats.

It’s very difficult to come off, in my experience.

So far, it’s been the most effective treatment for me for the longest period of time.

I notice a few zaps after three days if I miss one. I intend to take them forever.

Sorry to revive an older thread, but my mum has just started these for severe anxiety.

She's on day 5 now. Can anyone tell me what side effects they had on starting? And how long they took to have any positive effects?
