So have you done schema,
if so did it
really help ?
Helped?
It was ok ?
It didn’t help?
It was rubbish ?
It was crap?

I’ve done a few therapies nothing so far really helped.
So I know I now again need something, so was thinking of schema

I have a lot of thoughts mainly going over what’s happened/happening constantly chatting in the background. This can have a massive impact on my mood and motivation

I literally have to ghee myself up Or get angry just to go out sometimes. Then if I manage it
The background chatter is constantly there!
It’s like it’s become a massive habit, I can’t relax.

If I get an anxiety symptom like stomach churning or nausea, it’s like background chatter analysing the symptoms, which then makes it 10 times worse where I end up unable to eat because of nausea feeling and stomach in a tight knot. The power this as on my appetite is ridicules, I just can’t put food in my mouth.

I've just finished Schemas therapy and found it really helpful! It's a big commitment, I done it every 2 weeks for over 2 years. There's a few elements to it. You explore what 'modes' which are negative patterns of behaviour that you have and explore what role they play and how they are triggered. You do exercises like 'chair work' where you confront your modes as a healthy adult which is strange at first but you get used to it. You do 'imagery' which is exploring what has happened in the past that made you react a certain way, your psychologist then comes in to the image and 'reparents' you which for me was them stopping childhood abuse and comforting me. It sounds a bit out there, I know but honestly I've done CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma therapy and mindfulness and Schema therapy has been the most successful for me. You really need to buy in and throw yourself in to it but it does have amazing results. Give it a go!
