Does it ever get better?

Just that really. Just feeling hopeless. Having trouble sleeping all the time, I’m exhausted. Meds didn’t work. Antidepressants don’t work. Everyone says it’ll get better or oh you’re young you can’t be depressed but it is that way. I don’t know what the point is anymore. Can’t see the point in future

How old are you?

Yes, it can and does get better. Medication can be a problem, sometimes you've got to keep going back to your GP and trying different meds.

Remember the way you feel right now, it's not you, it's the illness. Fight the illness, not yourself. This isn't your fault you are ill and it can take time to get better. Call Samaritans, they are always happy to talk.

Have you had a full blood count recently ? Sometimes deficiencies can manifest with depressive, lethargic symptoms

I am on medication but it’s almost the highest dose doc is willing to go up to as I’m only 16 (although recently). Haven’t seen anyone from camhs in person for a while cause my DM and DB are high risk for coronavirus. I have been having blood tests every two weeks for anorexia but am beginning to ‘recover’ so having them less often now (every 6 weeks, but haven’t had any since coronavirus broke out Hmm )

It can get better but I know that is difficult to believe when you are not in a good place.

You might be in a difficult position medication wise because I think there are restrictions on what meds the NHS will prescribe to under 18s.

Feeling really exhausted when you are recovering from anorexia is not unusual - your body will be using the extra calories to repair damage to your body.

You are probably already aware of the other things you can do to help yourself in terms of sleep and lifting your mood - try to keep doing them even if it feels pointless.

It may take time but things can improve
