Does anyone have any knowledge of this? I have an ace score of 6 and it all makes sense to me now why I am the way I am. I’m doing a lot of research at the moment and i find it hard to focus. If anyone has knowledge please post. What advice do they give once you have your score? It seems like an American study.

What do you think it means? It's not a test of some kind where you score a certain amount and it means something. It's not diagnostic in any way.

I thought there might be specific help for certain scores as it details what your score could mean you have issues with. So I assumed it would also detail best types of to deal like cbt or EDMR

No it doesn't mean anything like that at all. It's just an indicator of what social or health problems you may be statistically more likely to develop. Its not a diagnosis of anything and doesn't mean that you WILL have those problems either, just that you would be statistically more likely.

It’s probably best I re-phrase my question!
If you have done the ace test and got your score, what was your next step in healing yourself? thanks in advance if anyone replies

Obviously I don't know what your childhood experiences were, but this is something I and some other survivors set up to support other survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Here is a link to our page on useful resources warriorwoman.blog/useful-resources/

In particular there is a book called the body keeps the score (details on the link) and it is amazing. It explains how childhood trauma affects the development of the brain and the impact that has, and what you can do to help yourself.

I also really recommend pushing for an assessment for complex ptsd which is likely if you experienced prolonged and numerous childhood trauma. Once you have this diagnosis it will hopefully set you on the path to access treatment.

Sending love OP

am seeing a therapist for complex trauma due to abuse of different kinds and I scored fairly highly on the ACE. My actual diagnosis under the MH team (NHS) was BPD/EUPD, which to be honest I don't disgaree with but they seemd to downplay that I needed additional help with trauma once I had completed 3 years fo DBT. Now I still use the skills I learned in DBT but have found a trauma therapist privately who could take me for a low cost. It has been helpful. I really would recommned seeing someone and if NHS not helpful maybe try pursue private?
