Anxiety is stopping me sleeping, it's a long complicated situation that isn't going to be resolved any time soon

I don't "feel" stressed or anxious but I clearly am because I am not sleeping even though 16 month old is (mainly)

I've tried everything so I'm thinking I should tackle managing my high levels of anxiety better I went online to buy a book but there's SO many I don't know where to start

Has anyone read or tried something that's actually given you coping mechanisms??

I did a CBT course online which helped a wee bit. Was referred to it through a local pain clinic but I'm sure your GP could come up with something? To be honest I wasn't convinced when it was suggested but it did help

Phone the doc, ask for Propranolol - job done!

I wish I'd asked for help much sooner! I do also recommend meditation and yoga, but sometimes you need medication to get you kick started. Good luck OP!

Paul David 'At last a Life' is the only book I'd ever recommend.
I spent ££ buying books looking for the miracle book that would 'cure' me and then I found this.
Honest. Give it a go.

@Spied I'll give that a go, thanks 🙏🏼

@SidSparrow I'm on lithium I don't know if I could take that with lithium but I'll give the GP a ring on Monday ✔️

I'm so sorry to read you are suffering with anxiety it is never nice! I've experienced it in the past and something I find that keeps it at bay is yoga. When my therapist first recommended it to me I was a bit unsure. She believed that yoga was better than any medication as the breathing techniques help to really slow down your breathing and open your diaphragm. When your take long slow deep breaths and are still in the moment it interrupts the stress hormone that is flooding your nervous system. It should help you to feel calmer and sleep a lot better at night too!

@cait73 I would also recommend if you have Instagram or Facebook to check out Louisa Hussey and her EFT sessions they can really help address what is on your mind
