Is the ‘eat everything in sight’ effect the same/more/less as the dose increases?

nearlyfinished1moreyear · 15/04/2020 21:28

I've been on 30mg at night for around a year and it's great for sleep. I'm still very anxious and sometimes take 15mg during the day )the max dose is 45mg). Unfortunately apart from the sleep it's not having a positive effect on my anxiety and I'm currently awaiting a psychiatrist appointment. It might work for you though so give it time, everyone reacts different to different meds. Thanks

Mirtazapine is excellent for helping you sleep, but your weight will balloon as it makes you alarmingly hungry.

Changed my life for the better

Whathewhatnow · 15/04/2020 21:46

Also changed my life. Made me sleep nor.ally for the first time in 20 years. The appetite thing is very real but I find it ok apart from 1.5 to 2 hours after I've taken it. As long as I'm asleep by then all ok.

Yogawoogie · 15/04/2020 22:24

@JoinTheMicrodots less for me as it increased. Still have a bigger appetite than I did but I was verging on an eating disorder before hand. I’m actually enjoying food now.

Thanks @Yogawoogie

I just stopped mirtzapine without any problems. I stopped it because of the weight gain and because I have a tendency get high during spring time.
I will probably start it again in novel when my moods usually drop.

Exactly the same is @Killerpinkflamingo - miracle drug for me and I've tried setraline, citroplam and Prozac.

Great for sleep, which has such a influence on my mood and the black dog days are gone. I also had increased appetite for months, but it wears off.

No side effects at all (had horrible ones with the others). Literally saved my sanity.
