Is now a bad time to start Sertraline? (Sort of coronavirus related)

After a few months of battling with PND and PNA, my GP and I decided yesterday afternoon to start me on a low dose of sertraline.

Then everything with COVID changed in a heartbeat and I have never felt so anxious in all my life. It’s not like me at all but it’s overwhelming. I can feel it in my chest - it aches.

I picked up the prescription today but I’m wobbling... I know things can get worse before they get better. Is this a terrible time to start??

I didn’t want to ring the GP to discuss if I can help it as I know how busy they must be. Sad

@Hulabalula how are you doing today?

Hulabalula · 23/03/2020 16:48

Hi @Splitsunrise thank you so much for asking.

I’m doing really well thank you. HV rang this morning to check in and reassured me I can ring any time so that was good.

My colleague isn’t doing too well but I’ve accepted I cannot change it and have kept him in my thoughts.

I had a killer migraine-type headache yesterday and I’m really thirsty today but generally the physical side effects seem to be perfectly manageable.

I have taken my first tablet of 50mg I am wobbly and feel sick. Not sure if I should cut the dose down. I have a weak immune system and scared witless about coronavirus - hardly gone out since March only twice a day to walk the dogs with a face mask on
