Escitalopram - sore face??

I’ve been taking Escitalopram for a few days and my face has felt sore and the skin has become dry and red!
I took Citalopram before and the only side effect was initial nausea and some weight gain.
Is this a dangerous side effect of Escitalopram (ie allergy) or is it likely to wear off? I thought Escitalopram was very similar to citalopram but with fewer side effects and better at treating anxiety & ocd?

I’ve been taking escitalopram since last Friday just 5mg and I’ve not noticed dry and red skin. Just been having frequent headaches and jaw pain, yawning a lot and generally feeling spaced out.

Maybe check with the pharmacy. Hope it improves soon.

I had pain in sinus area and face plus very dry skin. It is a side effect. Mine didn't really go away but got milder. Now in was withdrawal the pain is back.

In withdrawal, sorry.
I wouldn't ever take it again. In fact I wouldn't take any antidepressant if I can help it.

Is escitalopram harder to come off than citalopram?

@26cooperbug

It depends...everyone is different. My daughter was on Citalopram and just stopped it and had no issues. I was on escitalopram and its been difficult coming off it.
Escitalopram is stronger. 10mg is approx the same as 20 or 30mg Citalopram.
Doctors will tell you withdrawal is easy and only lasts a couple of weeks....and that's rubbish. They know very little about antidepressants.
