Hi all
Trying Fluoxetine for the first time, had the first tablet yesterday. I’ve had anxiety since I was a child but getting out of control now, so I really want this to work. No side effects yet except for feeling more tired... Can you please let me know if this medication has worked for you? Should I expect more side affects in the coming weeks? Cheers!

@Flatwhite32 my mood is better. I have a 6 year old and I think I’m also more patient with him Smile I just need to be able to sleep! I don’t usually sleep through the night anyway, but I think at the moment I’m only sleeping 2-3 hours every night! Hopefully my body will get used to the meds soon and I’ll be back to my normal sleeping patterns.

How's everyone doing?

@Flatwhite32 I'm doing really well - the gp upped my dose to 2 tablets a day and that made a big difference. I almost feel back to normal now which is a big relief. I've also started seeing a psychologist for therapy which is helping with the underlying cause of my anxiety and has been a real eye opener. Can definitely recommend!

That's great to hear @cakebythepound1234 If you don't mind me asking, is your psychologist private? I think I'll need to go down this avenue as although the fluoxetine is working, my sleep hasn't improved at all. The only issue is private therapy is so expensive round here.

@Flatwhite32 I'm based out of the UK but our heath insurance here is run by the British company my DH works for, so they will fund the equivalent of what I could expect to receive on the NHS. So it is private, £50 an hour but I can only have 10 sessions as this is apparently what the NHS would provide back in the UK. But I guess in the UK there would be a waiting list, whereas here I was seen the same week that I was referred. How much would private counselling be where you're based?
