Health Anxiety

Hi
I'm so worried STILL that I have MS and I can't shake it, I've had quite a few symptoms that can relate to MS but also anxiety:

I've had 3 'episodes' 3 years apart so nearly 7 years of this at stressful time, the most recent I went all hot and panicky and then it started almost a month of on and off stuff!

Numbness feeling inside my shoulder
Burning skin (not so much this time round)
Fuzzy head

I've had an OCT scan on my eyes the other day and they are very healthy inc optic nerve

I had a brain scan the first time round 7 years ago and it was fine and the neurologist said the symptoms wouldn't lead him to scan me but as I was so anxious he would and as I say it was fine.

But the symptoms and the episodic manner has just not stopped me worrying ... it's so hard, id say they have got better each episode not worst which I presume is good sign

I just am so worried all the time!

I'm on Setraline and having CBT ... also had lots of bloods done last week and my GP again just thinks anxiety ... should I be worried?

Glad it helps. How are you now?

Mumma1984 · 17/11/2019 13:02

Stressing out a bit - I forgot to take my Setraline last night, also I went to the gym to try and make myself feel better the other day and did loads of squats and chest press etc, well my muscles are aching which is fine but yesterday my arm felt a bit funny again , fine by today but today on the OTHER side i woke up with a hand that felt on the verge of pins and needles and a thumb twitch which is driving me mad - just one thing after another! It's on and off today, managed a walk where it went and had a nap but now I'm up again it's started again!

I'm sorry you've been stressed. Anxiety can cause lots of these weird symptoms (and so can many other benign conditions). I'm sure you're fine but if you feel you'll get peace of mind by seeing a neurologist it's worth considering.

Mumma1984 · 18/11/2019 14:46

@SallyWD how do you accept all the weird things youve had?

Well I just kind of accept that it's nearly always in my mind. The one time I did have something serious (cancer) I had no idea I had such a deadly disease. There have been many times over the years when I was sure I had heart problems or MS or something but these symptoms have never come to anything. I also notice my symptoms improve a lot when I'm calm and get worse when I'm anxious. It's really hard though! Been quite anxious the last month or so and having symptoms (a bit of dizziness now and then). Just trying to stay calm and not listen to the negative thoughts in my head....

I had a UTI and experienced some burning, I thought I’d try and have a look at what’s going on down there, as I opened up the vagina I could see a lump on the left hand side. It’s a bit bigger than a pea and I think it’s hard but a bit spongey.

I tried to push it with my finger and it moved a bit and it’s got a blue/ black ish hue on top.

I’m so worried I can’t eat, can’t sleep. I have a DS aged 3. I also went for a TV scan a few days ago and she said a have a mild uterine prolapse.

When I lie down I feel the lump at the back left of the vagina, when I sit up it’s much closer to the entrance.

Any ideas??? Anyone ever had anything similar?? Xxx @

So sorry I’m new to this I didn’t mean to post on this own as trying to start a new thread!

SallyWD · 19/11/2019 13:37

@Deer1981 You should start your own post to get responses. Have you only been diagnosed with a mild uterine prolapse? Nothing else going on? Honestly you'll be fine. I have a moderate uterine, bladder and bowel prolapse. I'm barely aware of them and live a normal life. If it gets worse in the future I know there are many treatment options. I was very upset and distressed when I first found out I had these prolapses but I quickly realised I'd be just fine. Ask to see a urogynocologist and they can assess you and refer you to a pelvic floor physiotherapist if they think that will help you.

@SallyWD I did my first CBT last night and rambled at her for an hour, half rational then slipping to worry and listing symptoms - then tonight I have a chiropractor app about my shoulder which is def coming and going - started yesterday having a little buzz feeling here and there in my foot which is stressing me out!

@Mumma1984 Do you think the CBT will help? I wonder if I should do it. This morning I found myself slipping in to the same old scary thoughts about my health. I hope the chiropractor helps too. I get a buzzing in the sole of my left foot! It really only happens when I'm stressed. I think stress causes a lot of neurological symptoms.

Mumma1984 · 21/11/2019 05:38

@SallyWD I think and hope it will help! Spoke to my doc yesterday and she said none of my symptoms indicate MS but they all indicated anxiety ! Went to chiropractor too and the shoulder thing he said that side is extremely tight and that's why I'd of been getting the feeling I have!

Yes I've heard this so many times, buzzing, tingling, pins and needles can all be anxiety (along with a million other symptoms). Hope the doctor and chiropractor help put your mind at rest.
