Crisis team

I was offered crisis team yesterday but I declined. I didn't want to get strangers visiting me at random times. Today my friend said it was good that I declined because socia services would be involved too if I were to be under crisis team. Is that true?

I don't know the answer but wanted to bump for you.

Also to let you know my mum had help from the crisis team a few years ago and afaik there was no social service involvement. My youngest sibling at the time was 16, I don't know if it would have been different if she had younger children at home.

The crisis team is there to help you. I doubt social services would be involved unless your children were at risk, but if they were, they would try to get you the best help.

Accepting help you need and showing them you have some awareness of the problems could make a big difference in your life.
Why would a friend not want you to get help you need?

I don't want the hassle them turning up in unconventional times. I have telephone numbers to cmht, cmht out of hours and crisis team. I can call them if needed. I about to start another antidepressant soon and o hoping it works. I am not typical depressed. I am not sad or crying. I just feel horrible.

If you don't need them, then obviously, don't call them but don't be afraid if you need to.

granadagirl · 02/10/2019 23:19

You don’t get given cmht phone number especially out of hours unless they think your are very poorly
Nhs is so understaff!
So they obviously think you need them maybe 24:7

When I was in crisis 8 yrs ago suicidal, even I didn’t get
Out of hours number

Social services wouldn’t be involved
Unless as said they think you are in danger of yourself and you have young children.
Your very very fortunate to be given help these days with the state the nhs mh is in
Just think of all those that need it
And can’t even access it for mths & mths too scared sometimes to even go out or get out of bed

The plan now is that I started another antidepressant, mirtzapine, which knocks me out in the evenings. I feel horrible in the evenings and very suicidal. I feel better in the mornings. I was offered that crisis team would visit in the evenings but it would be a hassle as everyone is at home.

I don't look like depressed and I am not sad and crying. Just generally unmotivated, numb, feeling horrible and suicidal.

@banskuwansku , how are you doing today? Flowers

banskuwansku · 07/10/2019 07:38

My situation hasn't changed yet but I guess it takes time to mirtzapine to come into the effect. Mental health team nurse will call me on Wednesday and I will see gp on Thursday. It's just persevering.
