Domestic abuse recovery: good books/resources?

Hello, I have been trying Google and just searching in Amazon but not finding books which sound helpful.

I'm not looking for help with a current situation: I'm hoping to gain insight into how a previous relationship has affected me and continues to affect me now.

It's been a long time since it all happened, but it was my first long term relationship (in my mid to late teens) and it was quite traumatic. I've downplayed it over the years I think- but recently read something which seemed to suggest that many of my ongoing issues may be related to it.

Are there any reasonably accessible books out there which might deal with this kind of thing? Thanks in advance!

Have you heard of the Freedom Programme? www.freedomprogramme.co.uk/

I've seen it mentioned, but I'm not sure what it entails? If you recommend it I'll look into it further.
I suppose that what I am looking for more than anything is to see whether my issues (or some of them) could stem from those experiences; or not, maybe.

Theres a book that goes alongside the freedom program. Also, speak with womens aid, they will point you in the right direction. They will help regardless of when it happened. Also speak to your GP as they could refer you to counselling.
