Has anybody got one of these? I suffer really badly in the winter months and am currently thinking about getting one to try and break the cycle of misery I get in the winter.

Lumie. We call it the Loony Lamp but OMG the difference to my DH was and is amazing.

The other thing that helps him is if he sleeps in the caravan in the darkest winter months. I know this sounds bizarre but our house is dark whilst the caravan has a massive sunroof and his waking with light directly overhead seems to really help him.

Thanks for this. Wondering if maybe leaving all the curtains open in the winter might help. Definitely picking up a lumie lamp. Any specific one? All the talk of lux and uv filters is a bit mind boggling.

I'm thinking of getting one. I know people who say they are brilliant for SAD

Yes, they are amazing. I have had several over the years and now have a small blue Phillips one which sits on my desk. I also have a sunrise alarm clock, which helps, but isn't enough on its own.

Lots of good info here. Also important to eat well and exercise. If you can book a sunshine holiday for your worse time, that is obviously great too!

I bought the desk lamp. The switch is counter intuitive but the build quality is fair to good. We've had it a lot of years actually and switched on first thing it's like bright sunlight.
